Why do some of the products on this site say “contact us for price?”
Due to our dealer agreement with certain manufacturers, we are not allowed to advertise below retail pricing on their products. Burton is the largest vendor of ours where this rule applies. Most of our Burton products are on sale and we cannot advertise our great sale prices! Please give us a call and we can check inventory and take phone orders for these products. We have TONS of Burton inventory at great prices so let us know if we can help you out! Free Shipping still applies!
Who is Buckeye Sports Center and why should I buy from them?
At Buckeye Sports Center we are a family operated ski and snowboard shop that opened its doors almost 50 years ago. We are Ohio’s largest volume ski shop and one of the largest in the Midwest. We pride ourselves on great customer service and repeat business. Our sales staff is friendly, well trained, and eager to help you out with any questions that you may have. Lastly, we GUARANTEE THE LOWEST PRICE online or off, so that you know that you are getting a great deal buying from us.
Where will you ship orders to?
We will ship only to the Continental US and the free shipping program applies everywhere in that region.
How long will the order take to get to me after I place my order?
We ship orders Monday through Friday and usually within 24 hours of getting the order. Worst case is the order will be shipped out in 2 business days. We ship UPS ground and we will send you a tracking number via email once the order has been shipped. If you are in the Northeast or Midwest the standard shipping time is 2-3 days. The Rockies or the Southeast is 3-5 days and the west coast is 7-10 days. For an additional fee, we can do 2nd day shipping or even overnight shipping in some cases. If you need an item fast give us a call and we'll do a phone order because it is the quickest and we can ship the item out right away.
What type of Privacy Service do you use so that I know that my information will be protected?
A secure server is one which takes advantage of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL is a protocol designed to enable secure transmission of information on the Internet. SSL provides encryption and integrity of communications along with strong authentication using digital certificates. SSL uses a private key to encrypt data being submitted from a browser before it is transferred over the Internet via the SSL connection. When the data reaches the SSL-enabled web server, it is decrypted. If the data were to be stolen during this transmission, it would remain unreadable. Many web sites use SSL to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers. Web pages that incorporate SSL have a web address starting with "https://" instead of the usual "http://".
iTransact takes advantage of advanced security and encryption features to ensure the security and safety of customer data. After customer data (credit card number or checking account number) arrives at iTransact's server via SSL, it is re-encrypted using PGP (RSA algorithm), which makes the information unreadable. This information is then pushed to an offline server (not accessible via the Internet) where the information is safely decrypted and the transaction is completed.
Credit card and checking account data is never stored online in plain-text (readable) format. In addition, this information is never transmitted in plain-text via email, socket, GET, POST, etc.
I see an item on your site that I want but it doesn't’t show the size that I need- am I out of luck?
Probably not- Call us or send us an e-mail and we'll check our inventory. We have large shipments coming in everyday and it’s difficult to keep the online store up to speed with the shipments. Also, the online inventory is based only on what’s on hand in our primary warehouse and doesn't include our satellite stores’ inventory.
I'm confused on ski boot sizing. What does size 28 mean?
Ski boots are measure in a scale called Mondo Point sizing. While not exact, a 26 is close to a men’s 8, 27 a men’s 9, 28 a men’s 10, 29 a men’s 11, and 30 a men’s 12. 23 a women’s 6, 24 a women’s 7, 25 a women’s 8, and 26 a women’s 9. Also keep in mind that in general, a person “downsizes” one size from a standard street shoe size. For example, a man wearing a size 10 shoe probably wears about a 27 boot.
Are the items purchased on the online store returnable?
Yes they are. Within 15 days of the ship date an item can be returned for a full refund (except shipping costs). The customer must pay the freight on the return and will be charged for the outgoing freight as well. You must contact us ahead of time for a Return Authorization number (ask for “Internet Sales”). Obviously if there was an error on our end let us know and we'll take care of you as best we can.
I clicked on product to add to my cart, but it isn't showing up there. What am I doing wrong?
We’ve had this issue sometimes…. Most of the time it is because you are linking through our website through an intermediary source. Not a big deal….. just close the window and go to www.buckeyesportscenter.com directly through Internet Explorer or whatever service provider you use. You should then be able to add items to the cart.
